It’s summertime in Buenos Aires and Marcela (Mercedes Morán) is shocked by her sister’s sudden death. As Marcela grieves, she must face the painful process of purging her sister’s apartment of possessions, photographs, and family heirlooms. When Nacho (Esteban Bigliardi), a friend of her daughter’s, offers to help her, she finds unexpected comfort that gradually gives way to an illicit romance with the younger man. During these difficult and confusing days, Marcela’s past and present become intertwined, leading her to question her very understanding of herself. María Alché, star of Lucrecia Martel’s THE HOLY GIRL, directs this dreamlike exploration of a woman’s inner world greatly enhanced by Hélène Louvart’s luminous cinematography.
