Directed by Joseph Kane • 1956 • United States
Starring David Brian, Vera Ralston, Sidney Blackmer

Legendary Poverty Row studio Republic Pictures trotted out its knockoff Technicolor process, Trucolor, for this handsomely mounted noir in which a police detective (David Brian) finds himself entangled in the web of the underworld when he falls in love with a nightclub singer (Czech figure skater turned B-movie siren Vera Ralston) accused of murdering a crooked lawyer. Future spaghetti-western star Lee Van Cleef has an early supporting role, while character actor extraordinaire Elisha Cook Jr. makes a memorable appearance as a jumpy witness.
