Bill Plympton’s first feature-length film incorporates elements from a handful of his early shorts into a kaleidoscopically oddball musical fantasia. Del is a songwriter for the obnoxious Mr. Mega and in love with Didi, Mega’s secretary. His quest to write a hit tune brings him to the wacky world of Flooby Nooby, where he just might learn to write songs from the heart. A canine Elvis impersonator, a psychotic bellhop, and a pair of shape-shifting businessmen duking it out in a demented grudge match are just a few of the outré inhabitants of Plympton’s wondrously warped universe.
