Starring Rita Hayworth, Fred Astaire, Adolphe Menjou
Rita Hayworth hit the dance floor with Fred Astaire for the second time in this romantic musical confection. The Acunas, a rich Argentine family, have a tradition that decrees their four daughters must be married in order of age, oldest first. When sister number one gets married, sisters number three and four put pressure on Maria (Hayworth), sister number two, because they have their husbands already picked out. But Maria hasn’t yet met a man she likes. Enter Robert Davis (Astaire), a charming American dancer looking for work, of whom Maria’s father definitely does not approve.
