Directed by Charles Reisner • 1941 • United States
Starring Groucho Marx, Harpo Marx, Chico Marx
The last film the Marx Brothers made at MGM casts Groucho, Chico, and Harpo as a trio of detectives-cum-bodyguards hired to protect the heir to a department store from the murderous machinations of the store’s scheming manager. Of course, the brothers’ wild antics quickly prove to be an even greater danger for their client. Along the way Chico and Harpo share a piano keyboard, beds disappear into walls, roller skates provide in-store mobility, and Groucho warbles “Sing While You Sell.” Sold!
