Directed by Andrzej Wajda • 1951 • Poland
Andrzej Wajda was one of the Polish Film School’s first students when it opened its doors in Lodz in 1948. During his studies, he made three short films. CERAMICS FROM ILZA (CERAMIKA ILZECKA, 1951), his second film, is presented here courtesy of the school. Wajda collaborated with cinematographer Jerzy Lipman, with whom he went on to make A GENERATION, KANAL, and other films.
