Human Nature

Before they made ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND, director Michel Gondry and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman teamed up for this whimsically imaginative, refreshingly unconventional look at the idiosyncrasies of the human mind and the lengths to which people will go to be accepted. Tim Robbins is a thirty-five-year-old virgin scientist researching how to teach table manners to mice; Patricia Arquette is his ecologist girlfriend with a hormonal condition that causes her to grow hair all over her body; and Rhys Ifans is the apelike man they discover in the wild and attempt to “civilize”—with chaotic results.
