Oh, Christmas Tree

Directed by Katie Aselton and written by her husband, Mark Duplass, who costars alongside their daughter Ora Duplass, this bittersweet evocation of holiday cheer mingled with melancholy has the emotional intimacy of a true family affair. Retreating to their family’s winter cabin, sixteen-year-old Claire and her father try to recreate a few of their favorite Christmas traditions—but something’s different this year, as the attempts at manufactured joy bump up against the sobering reality of an altered family dynamic.
