Roman Coppola’s stylish homage to midcentury Eurocult extravaganzas like BARBARELLA and DANGER: DIABOLIK follows Paul Ballard (Jeremy Davies), a young American filmmaker in 1960s Paris, as he balances work on his own art film with his day job editing a campy sci-fi movie called CODENAME: DRAGONFLY. When the film’s troubled production goes off the rails, Paul finds himself suddenly in the director’s chair—and increasingly besotted with his leading lady (Angela Lindvall). Or is it her character, Dragonfly, whom he’s really infatuated with?
