In the final installment in his autobiographical coming-of-age trilogy, director Bill Douglas follows Jamie (Stephen Archibald) into early adulthood as he is conscripted into the RAF and stationed in Egypt. There he experiences, for the first time in his life, kindness and understanding through a formative friendship with another young man, Robert (Joseph Blatchley).
