Filmed in spectral black and white at Los Angeles’s Orpheum Theatre, HIDDEN IN PIECES makes the historic venue—and seemingly its ghosts—a character unto itself, interspersing dreamlike vignettes with a transcendent performance by the band in radiant form. Singer Karen O’s regally self-possessed, almost otherworldly presence casts a transfixing spell that reaches its crescendo with a movingly meditative, introspective rendition of the band’s signature song, “Maps.”
