Directed by Stephen Hopkins • 1993 • United States
Starring Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jeremy Piven
Boys’ night out turns into a harrowing fight to survive in this turbocharged action extravaganza. Suburban family man Frank Wyatt (Emilio Estevez) and his buddies are on their way to Chicago to see a wrestling match when a wrong turn inadvertently makes them witnesses to a gangland murder. Now, lost in the urban underworld, the guys find themselves on the run from a gang leader (Denis Leary) who wants to make sure they won’t talk. The innovative soundtrack features collaborations between some of the decade’s defining rock and rap outfits, including Cypress Hill and Sonic Youth, De La Soul and Teenage Fanclub, and Ice-T and Slayer.
