Anna (Patricia Charbonneau) is a journalist for an alternative New York City newspaper whose boring romantic life suddenly gets interesting when she begins receiving erotic phone calls from a mysterious stranger . . . who may be connected with a murder she witnesses one night in a bar. Among the guilty pleasures: a young Steve Buscemi as a baddie named “Switchblade,” plenty of gritty 1980s New York atmosphere, and some memorably kinky business involving citrus.
