New York Documentaries by Bobbito García

Legendary DJ and quintessential New Yorker Bobbito García has been at the forefront of East Coast hip-hop culture since his early days cohosting “The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show,” the taste-making underground radio show that gave early exposure to artists like Nas, the Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, and Wu-Tang Clan. Steeped in the vibrant, DIY energy of New York’s street culture, this trio of candid and kinetic documentaries directed by García showcases the intersecting passions—basketball, sneakers, and music—that have defined his life.
