Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives

Named “the best hip-hop radio show of all time” by “The Source” magazine, WKCR’s “The Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Show” was among the first to bring then-unknown and unsigned artists like Nas, the Notorious B.I.G., Wu-Tang Clan, Jay-Z, Big Pun, and others to listeners in the 1990s, developing a cult following that extended from the art and fashion world to the prison population. Directed by cohost Bobbito García himself, this up-close-and-personal documentary tells the inside story of how two friends from New York City brought a unique audience together and created a platform that changed music forever.
