This sumptuous, erotically charged period mystery unfolds in a lavish recreation of early nineteenth-century Spain, where the wealthy and free-spirited Duchess of Alba (Aitana Sánchez-Gijón) throws a spectacular party to celebrate the completion of her new palace. But when she’s found dead the next day under mysterious circumstances, suddenly the illustrious guests find themselves suspects—among them the politician Manuel de Godoy (Jordi Mollà), the celebrated painter Francisco Goya (Jorge Perugorría), and Pepita Tudó (Penélope Cruz), the artist’s lover and model for some of his most famous paintings.
