A deeply personal passion project for director Héctor Babenco, this tale of romantic and artistic awakening follows seventeen-year-old Juan (Walter Quiroz), a young man with a burgeoning interest in photography and cinema, as he is introduced to a cadre of bohemian intellectuals in Buenos Aires, meanwhile falling in love with the troubled Ana (Maria Luísa Mendonça). As the group nurtures Juan’s creative impulses, his relationship with the unstable Ana grows increasingly turbulent—sending him on a path that will shape the course of his life.
