John Travolta plays Nicolas Cage, Nicolas Cage plays John Travolta, and master of turbocharged action spectacle John Woo detonates the screen in what may be the most utterly berserk blockbuster of the 1990s. With his nemesis, psychotic superterrorist Castor Troy (Cage), in a coma, FBI agent Sean Archer (Travolta) sees a chance to bring him down: by undergoing a facial transplant to take over Troy’s identity and infiltrate his criminal organization. It’s the beginning of a serious identity crisis that only gets more complicated when Troy awakes from his coma, assumes Archer’s face, and sets out to get revenge.
