Starring Aya Okamoto, Yoshiaki Umegaki, Toru Emori
Legendary animator Satoshi Kon brings his striking visual imagination and typically complex themes to this wonderfully offbeat holiday tale. On Christmas Eve on the margins of Tokyo, the lives of three lost, homeless souls—a transgender woman, a grizzled alcoholic, and a teenage runaway—are changed forever when they discover a baby girl at a garbage dump. As the New Year fast approaches, these three outcasts band together to solve the mystery of the abandoned child and the fate of her parents, along the way confronting their own haunted pasts as they learn to face the future together.
