When the young Lady Windermere (Jeanne Crain) begins to suspect her husband (Richard Greene) of having an affair with the mysterious Mrs. Erlynne (Madeleine Carroll, in her final film role), gossip and misunderstanding threaten to destroy their marriage and reputation.
