1h 22m
Directed by Dónal Foreman • 2022 • Ireland
Starring Dale Dickey, Judith Roddy, Fionn Walton
A genre-defying blend of road movie, psychodrama, and fantasy steeped in Irish lore, Dónal Foreman’s gorgeously shot third feature follows a grieving American filmmaker (Dale Dickey) and her Irish assistant (Judith Roddy) as they tour the west of Ireland, researching a film about Granuaile, the legendary sixteenth-century pirate queen. As they journey toward a remote Atlantic island, the two women develop an uneasy intimacy, and boundaries begin to blur between past and present, myth and history, dream and reality.
