1h 41m
Directed by Allan Moyle • 1990 • United States, Canada
Starring Christian Slater, Samantha Mathis, Annie Ross
By day, Mark Hunter (Christian Slater) is the painfully shy new kid in a small Arizona town. But by night, he’s Hard Harry, the cynical, uncensored DJ of a pirate radio station. Idolized by his high-school classmates (who are unaware of his real identity), Harry becomes a hero thanks to his raw, fiercely funny monologues on love, sex, and the state of teenage life, which he broadcasts in between blasting punk rock and gangster rap. But when he exposes his school’s corrupt principal, it sets up a fight over free speech that will inspire his classmates to find their own voices of rebellion and individuality.
