A searing saga of capitalist corruption, revenge, and a woman’s relentless pursuit of justice, this socially conscious crime drama begins when a bridge in the busy Chinese city of Huangque collapses in broad daylight. From the wreckage, investigators discover the skeleton of a kneeling man and a whistleblowing letter revealing corruption behind this fatally flawed construction. Refusing to let the story be covered up, the deceased man’s daughter (Ma Sichun) takes matters into her own hands as she sets out to discover the ugly truth about what happened to her father.
