Veteran supporting player Aline MacMahon gets a chance to shine in an all-too-rare starring role in this hard-edged tale of simmering lust and violence in the remote California desert. At her roadside cafe along a sunbaked stretch of highway, Olga (MacMahon), a former dance-hall girl, will stop at nothing to save her younger sister (Ann Dvorak) from following the same path to a dead-end life that she is on. When a shady ex-boyfriend from her past reappears, Olga must take matters into her own hands to protect both her own heart and her sister’s future.
