Swamp Things

2 Episodes

A pair of European émigrés in Hollywood head to the remote swamplands of Georgia for two vivid backwater dramas adapted from the same source material. Vereen Bell’s novel “Swamp Water” provides the basis for Jean Negulesco’s LURE OF THE WILDERNESS, with legendary character actor Walter Brennan as a fugitive unjustly accused of murder who takes refuge in a treacherous swamp in the Deep South. Brennan also stars in the original film version of SWAMP WATER, directed by the great Jean Renoir (making his American debut) and evocatively shot on location in Georgia’s Okefenokee Swamp.
