Jerome Platz (Max Minghella) dreams of becoming a great artist—perhaps the greatest artist of the twenty-first century. Enrolling at Strathmore College, he finds himself surrounded by the quirky misfits who populate the art world: teachers (John Malkovich and Anjelica Houston) who seem to have lost what once so inspired them; an undercover cop (Matt Keeslar) out to catch a serial killer; and a failed artist (Jim Broadbent) who, though a perennial drunk, might just be an artistic genius . . . or something more.
