Directed by William Dieterle • 1932 • United States
Starring Kay Francis, David Manners, Una Merkel
In the first film the ever-chic Kay Francis made at Warner Bros.—where she would quickly become the studio’s top star during the pre-Code era—she plays Lois Ames, a magazine editor whose husband is too busy with his polo friends to pay her much attention. But when her secretary suddenly quits, Lois hires handsome Tom Sherman (David Manners)—a salesman who just so happens to come by her office—and a budding romance between the two suddenly makes long hours in the workplace much more interesting.
