The Office Wife
Leaving July 31
•
58m
Directed by Lloyd Bacon • 1930 • United States
Starring Dorothy Mackaill, Lewis Stone, Natalie Moorhead
Though little-known today due to her relatively short-lived career, Dorothy Mackaill was one of the most intriguing screen personalities of the silent and pre-Code eras. She shines—opposite up-and-coming star Joan Blondell in her film debut—as a secretary who breaks up with her boyfriend so she can more actively pursue her plan to seduce her executive boss (Lewis Stone). He resists her wiles—until he discovers his wife in a tryst with a much younger man.
