Combining cinema verité with intimate interviews and archival photographs, HOMEGOINGS paints a vivid portrait of the dearly departed, their grieving families, and a man who sends loved ones “home.” It is presented alongside two beautifully observed short documentaries by Turner spotlighting brilliant Black artists Betye Saar and Kevin Beasley, whose work interrogates and subverts the history of racial oppression in America.
